  2022-05-16

The Cx family of integral membrane proteins [13] are key components of the Gap Junction channels that provide GJIC, which is indispensable in the preservation of tissue integrity and homeostasis in multicellular organisms. Gap Junction channels form a conduit for exchange of ions (Ca2+), second mess

Although domain organization had been clearly delineated by the 4.3-Å structure of T4-γ-secretase [], atomic modeling of the side chains had to wait for the 3.4-Å structure []. In total, 598 residues in the transmembrane region and 632 residues in the ECD were modeled for the four components of hum

  2022-05-16

Gamma-secretase trafficking GS activity for APP can be influenced by sub-cellular trafficking, as APP cleavage differs depending on its localization. APP is synthesized in the ER and transported to the trans-Golgi network (Annaert et al., 1999, Pasternak et al., 2003, Ray et al., 1999a, Rechards

  2022-05-16

Retinal GAL receptor distribution suggests an intrinsic neuronal control since retina lacks an autonomic innervation, and a signal modulation seems most likely here, acting via GALR1 while GALR2 and GALR3 seem to play a rather minor role in this signal transduction. While sources acting on these ret

At the end of experiments rats were injected high dose of sodium pentobarbital (90mg/kg) and the rat’s head was cut and frozen in −20°C for 20min with the injecting tube in situ before section. The location of the tip of the injecting tube was verified and all the tips of the injecting tube were in

  2022-05-16

A way to identify what subunit interfaces contribute to the pharmacology of agents is to utilise binary GABAARs as tool receptors to ascertain possible binding sites for particular ligands. These receptors can help identify subunits and subunit interfaces that contribute to receptor pharmacology. In

  2022-05-16

The effect of GC on Fgf21 was not directly dependent on ileal Fgf15 because basal Fgf21 BMS 193885 was similar in Fgf15+/+ and Fgf15−/− mice. Moreover, GC treatment induced similar Fgf21 up-regulation in both strains. Fxr activation has been reported to increase Fgf21 expression and secretion [28].

  2022-05-16

The G protein-coupled receptor, GPR40 (also called FFAR1) responds to medium and long chain unsaturated fatty acids, resulting in increase of insulin secretion during elevated glucose levels. The glucose dependency of insulin secretion makes this receptor a very good target for developing therapies

  2022-05-16

The primary or in-transit site of metastasis for many cancers, including melanoma, are nearby sentinel lymph nodes (LNs) [6]. As such, sentinel LN biopsy is a common procedure to diagnose and stage melanoma progression [7,8]. Sentinel LNs are often the primary site of metastasis due to tumor cell-s

Although earlier studies had reported conflicting results regarding the role of Ca2+ in regulating SV endocytosis, more recent data suggest that Ca2+ influx facilitates SV endocytosis in hippocampal neurons, the calyx of Held, and in inner hair 2272 (Dittman and Ryan, 2009, Hosoi et al., 2009, Mo

Dual-acting HR antagonists While the present medicinal chemistry efforts are mainly focused on selective ligands targeting GPCRs, and particularly on H1R, H3R and H4R selective antagonists/agonists, there were and, also, still are several efforts to develop dual acting H1R/H2R, H1R/H3R and H3R/H4
