Materials and methods Results Discussion Numerous studies have identified important roles for HIF-1α in cellular function and dysfunction through its transcriptional activity [4]. A few studies have reported that HIF-1α is translocated to the mitochondria in human and mouse cancer cell line

  2022-04-06

Introduction GPR119 is a class A type of G Protein coupled receptor, which is expressed primarily in pancreatic β-cells and the K and L Oligomycin Complex receptor of the gastrointestinal tract [1], [2], [3]. Activation of GPR119 promotes secretion of incretins such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-

  2022-04-06

GlxI is a member of the βαβββ superfamily of proteins, consisting of fosfomycin resistance protein (FosA), methylmalonyl-CoA epimerase (MMCE), extradiol dioxygenase (DIOX), mitomycin C resistance protein (MRP) and bleomycin resistance protein (BRP) [29], [30], [31]. These proteins are believed to ha

  2022-04-06

Previous studies have demonstrated that cannabinoid potentiation of GlyR α3 subunits contributes to cannabinoid-induced analgesia. For instance, Dehydroxylcannabidiol (DH-CBD), a chemically modified cannabinoid, can alleviate acute pain and chronic inflammatory pain by targeting spinal α3 GlyRs (Xio

  2022-04-06

Based on the molecular weights of glutamate (147.13 g/mol) and MSG (169.111 g/mol), the amount of free glutamate intake obtained in this study was equivalent to 297 mg MSG/d and 370 mg MSG/d for children and adults, respectively. Several previous studies have assessed population intake of MSG from f

It is an aspiring task to apply the glutamate biosensor for in vivo measurements in ampk pathway tissue. Due to a relatively large size of the electrode used in this work, the biosensor fits only ex vivo applications. However, it is possible to apply platinum microelectrodes 50–100 μm in diameter f

  2022-04-06

Introduction The brain contains abundant fatty acids, which serve as constituents of membranes and as an energy source. In addition, fatty acids and their metabolites contribute to signal transduction between neurons or neurons and glial cells, suggesting that fatty acids play a crucial role in dev

Fig. 2A demonstrates the body weight gain of the pregestational females. High-fat diet in wild-type mice increased body weight in 2 weeks and sustained this increase over 8 weeks. A similar effect was noted in glut3 mice in response to a high-fat diet. Fig. 2B depicts fat and muscle mass as assessed

Experimental section Introduction Fasting hyperglycaemia in all forms of diabetes mellitus occurs primarily as a result of upsurge in hepatic glucose synthesis (HGS) [1], [2]. Two specific enzymes, glucokinase (GK) and glucose-6 phosphatase (Glu-6-Pase) play crucial role in hepatic glucose pro

The small conductance Ca-activated K+ (SKCa; SK, SKCa, KCa2) channels are recognized as a subfamily of KCa channels (Bond, Maylie, & Adelman, 1999). The SKCa channel is encoded by three distinct genes, KCNN1, KCNN2, and KCNN3 with different sensitivities toward apamin. Different with BKCa channels

SNL in rats led to upregulated Panx1 mRNA and protein level in DRG but not in spinal cord, and immunostaining revealed increased Panx1 in DRG neurons [50]. Although it was not emphasized, Panx1 labeling in SGCs was also increased in this pain model. Intrathecal injection of Panx1 blockers or Panx1-s

  2022-04-02

Syt1 itself does not catalyze lipid mixing and membrane fusion. Rather, the pairing of vesicular and target membrane SNAREs into complexes serves to pull bilayers together to drive fusion; Ca•syt1 accelerates these fusion reactions so that they occur on rapid timescales in a manner that is precisely
